About the Dachshund colour
We tend to have a number of enquiries, with families often saying they only want a cream puppy. If you fall into this category, I would urge you to do some research into creams and shaded creams if you haven't already. A shaded cream puppy will always be born dark, but the dark hairs will grow through as cream over time. So far, all of our shaded cream puppies have grown up to lose all, or the majority of their shading by 6 months old, leaving them with the appearance of a cream dachshund.

A puppy born pure cream can have a variation in the pigmentation around their eyes, lips and nose, where as a shaded cream will usually have very dark pigmentation, giving them a more defined look. Our girl Dolly is shaded cream, she was very dark at 12 weeks old, she now has no dark hairs on her and is the same cream colour as my pure creams dachshunds.
